Inessa Galante movingly performed the central role of Violetta in Verdi's "La Traviata". The recording which is taken from an outstanding live performance at the Riga Opera House in 1989, also features the prominent Latvian soloists Ingus Petersens, tenor (as Alfredo) and Samsuns Izjumovs, baritone (as Germont) with the Latvian National Opera Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Alexander Vilumanis.

Our favourite soprano, accompanied by Roger Vignoles at the piano, gives a stunning recital performance of RUSSIAN SONGS & ARIAS. Originally Broadcast by the BBC in October 1999
Re-mastered and re-edited for this CD presentation by Clive Portbury of the BBC and Campion Records.

This beautiful collection of songs, arias and ariettas features 18 new arrangements written especially for Inessa Galante's exceptional vocal talent.

Recorded by Campion Records in the superb acoustic of St. Silas's Church, London by an outstanding production team, August 30th, September 1st & 2nd 1999 with LONDON MUSICI, director Mark Stephenson.

This is the World Premiere Recording of Maks Goldins' collection of Eighteen Jewish Folk Songs set for soprano, violin and piano. They are wonderfully performed by Inessa Galante and the CD concludes with four of Rachmaninov's romantic songs.

The recordings have been remastered by Campion Records from tapes found in the archive of Radio Latvia that were made during the last years of Russian occupation between 1986 and 1991. They have the freshness and excitement of a premiere broadcast and Inessa Galante sings the songs with great vocal skill, with charm and where appropriate, a sense of fun.

The Goldins collection is drawn from the beautiful heritage of Jewish song found in Russia and neighbouring countries.

A wonderful book about Inessa Galante has been produced in Riga, only a limited run of 1000 copies, many of which have already been distributed. It is a small hardback volume, full of pictures from Inessa Galante's own photo collection, and with page after page of her observations - on life and people in general, her childhood and family, the nomadic life of an opera singer , her love of reading, her love of singing etc. Here is revealed a warm, caring, human person - who also insists herself that she is no angel!! Undoubtedly Inessa Galante is a diva, however reluctantly, and a prima donna only in the very best sense!
